Safe Water

Put weight in the collar,
trust your legs wade in safe water.

I sang for the boy, said, “Human be sublime and sacrilege —
observe the hot knot we two make,
all the charm of this humid pious hubris.”

I invite you,
see the nocturne inner page
where little letters illuminate
the symbol I thee make.

Fearless is paradise, put weight in the collar,
or you, boy, become a quivering mirror.

I entreat you,
see the storm cowered at the sunrise,
the storm is refugee of sunrise,
trust your legs wade in safe water.
