slip yolk

i sat like an anchor inside, the consequence

of a narrow arrow in a fat trunk struck
in time, the small feet squeezed at a narrow divide

arched as a whale, slipped out the yolk
breached and her blood beat in a drum

white, arms tied to my side, i was alive
call it dreaming on the other side
