littleness

june but a calf
the nipple bitten, if not used

kissing her and kissing her
a whispered cuss into her ear

playing me as children do
with one civil eye, the other helpless, radical

held up against the couch leg
from thick rubber stilts that teeter

how littleness is the cusp of dying?

between us what closeness never parallel
